HUW J EDMUND  FCA. FCCA ~ DIRECTOR

Huw qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979 and was admitted as a Fellow in 1990.  He was also admitted as a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2005. He has enjoyed a wide and varied career, including periods with international practices (such as Coopers & Lybrand as Audit Manager and BDO Binder Hamlyn as Audit Partner) and with local firms as Managing Partner.

This mix and scale of activity has exposed Huw to a wide range of clients and problems from dealing with the funding of the smaller firm, to managing the audits of public limited companies.

Whilst Huw is an experienced and accomplished general practitioner, he has also developed special skills in the areas of financial services.  He is regulated by the Financial Services Authority to give independent financial advice.  He also deals with the accounts and taxation affairs of more than 600 clients in the South Wales area.  These include Companies; Company Directors; High Net Worth Individuals; Professional Partnerships (for example: doctors, dentists, solicitors etc.) and Sole Traders. He also acts for more than 350 General Medical Practitioners and Medical Consultants in the South Wales area. Furthermore, in addition to presenting in-house seminars to clients, he has presented many seminars to GP's and Dentists on finance (including the New GMS Contract), accountancy,taxation and financial planning matters for The University of Wales College of Medicine Postgraduate Centre, The University of Wales Clinical School, Bro Taf Health Authority, individual PGEA groups and a number of Drug Companies. In addition, Huw is familiar with the special needs of “not for profit” and charitable organisations.

He has taken an active interest in his local community where he has been the Chairman of the Governing Body of a local primary school.  Also he has been actively involved in his Professional Body where he has been a committee member of the Cardiff and District Society of Chartered Accountants (latterly as Committee Chairman) and the South Wales Society of Chartered Accountants.

ANGELA WILLIAMS ~ DIRECTOR

Angela has held senior positions in the Inland Revenue, where she reached Inspector grade, and Accountancy Practices, both International (such as Grant Thornton and BDO Binder Hamlyn) and local.  This experience has exposed her to a wide range of clients and their tax and financial problems.  She now specialises in the taxation and financial affairs of Company Directors: High Net Worth Individuals; Self-employed: Professional Partnerships; Employees and Retired Individuals.

Furthermore, in addition to presenting in-house seminars to clients', Angela has presented many seminars to GP's and Dentists on finance and taxation matters for the University of Wales College of Medicine Postgraduate Centre, The University of Wales Swansea Clinical School , Bro Taf Health Authority, individual PGEA groups and a number of Drug Companies.

NICK MORGAN  CTA ~ SENIOR AUDIT MANAGER

Nick spent eight years working in the accounts and taxation departments of two international firms of accountants.  During this period he gained in experience in advising clients ranging from Sole traders to international companies on accounting and taxation issues.

Since joining Huw J Edmund in June 1998, Nick has managed a diversified client portfolio.  He is able to advise on a wide range of accounting, taxation and computer software issues relating to owner-managed businesses.  During his period with the firm he has developed a specialist knowledge of the accounting and taxation requirements of businesses in the Health Sector. Nick qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser and was admitted as a member in 1997.
